Sarah Browne is a singer-songwriter currently based in New York. A nearly entirely self-taught musician, Sarah started teaching herself piano at the age of thirteen and picked up guitar shortly after. She discovered her love for songwriting at eighteen. After Sarah had written her first song, she felt compelled to share her music with others.
Sarah began attending open mics and eventually started playing her own shows at venues throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley. Sarah is now an accomplished performer, having clocked in 100+ shows at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Mercury Lounge, the Turning Point, the Pleasantville Farmers Market and many more. Sarah's music has been featured on The Peak 107.1 FM and on WHUD 100.7 FM.
Sarah's debut album, entitled To You, was released in December 2017. Her songwriting style is characterized by her ability to create tantalizing melodies that take on an integral part of each song. Her lyrics are poetic and honest in a straightforward, unassuming way. Sarah is currently working on her second album, which will be released in 2020.
Sarah plans on using music as a platform to spread awareness about Friedreich’s Ataxia, which is a rare, genetic disease that took the life of her cousin, Matthew Rupel, in August 2017. She decided to dedicate her album to him because he was an endless source of encouragement and support for Sarah from the time she started playing music.
Sarah hopes that through her music she can inspire others to pursue their own passions. She feels that music is the way that she can most positively impact the world.
